The third and final suspect in the infamous Pattaya “barrel murder” case has been arrested in Vietnam and extradited to South Korea after evading capture for four months. The suspect, a South Korean national in his 30s, was apprehended by Vietnamese authorities on September 12 and sent back to South Korea earlier this week.
This case, which shocked the public in both South Korea and Thailand, revolves around the murder of South Korean national Roh Eui-jong. His body was discovered on May 11, 2024, encased in a cement-filled barrel at the bottom of the Map Prachan reservoir in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri, by divers who were conducting a recovery operation.
The gruesome find sparked an extensive international search, culminating in the arrest of all three suspects involved in the crime. This latest arrest concludes the pursuit, ending a high-profile investigation that spanned multiple countries and involved cooperation from various law enforcement agencies.
