A man in his 70s has been arrested by police in Jeollabuk-do after allegedly killing a beekeeper over a dispute involving the sale of a beehive. The incident occurred after the victim sold a beehive that was missing a queen bee, sparking an argument between the two. Following the altercation, the culprit reportedly killed the beekeeper and secretly buried his body on a nearby hill.

The Jeongeup Police Station in Jeollabuk-do stated the arrest of the culprit on charges of murder and body disposal. Authorities are currently investigating the case further as they work to uncover additional details surrounding the crime.

A man in his 70s has been arrested for the murder of a fellow beekeeper also in his 70s in Jeongeup. Investigations suggest that the culprit struck the victim multiple times with a blunt object in the victim’s shack before burying the body on a nearby hill.

The situation came to light when the victim’s son reported his father missing on the afternoon of the 28th after being unable to contact him. The victim, who lived alone in a shack while managing his beekeeping operation, had been unreachable since the previous day. The report prompted police to launch a search for the missing man, which led to the discovery of evidence pointing to foul play.

During the investigation, police discovered that the black box from the victim’s vehicle, which was parked near his shack, had been forcibly removed. Further examination indicated that someone had visited the shack on the 27th. This led investigators to focus on the possibility of a violent confrontation between the culprit and the victim, which prompted the formal investigation starting on the 29th.

Police quickly determined that the victim had been killed inside the shack, and upon further questioning, the culprit confessed to the crime. The culprit explained that he had purchased a beehive from the victim around 2 to 3 years ago, only to find that it lacked a queen bee, causing the bees to fly away. He claimed that when he returned to the victim’s shack to address the issue, an argument ensued, which escalated into violence.

The culprit is now in custody, facing charges of murder and the unlawful disposal of a body. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the details surrounding the crime, while the victim’s son is left grappling with the tragic loss of his father.

During the investigation, police uncovered the body of the victim, which had been buried by the culprit approximately 30 meters from the shack. The culprit initially denied his involvement in the murder but later admitted to the crime after persistent questioning. His confession led investigators to the discovery of the victim’s remains, which were concealed on a nearby hill.

A police spokesperson confirmed that authorities are looking into the specifics of the culprit’s past transactions with the victim, particularly the beehive deal from 2 to 3 years ago, and further examining the underlying reasons behind the killing. Based on the evidence collected, police are preparing to apply for an arrest warrant to charge the culprit with murder and other related offenses formally.
